What the hell is so exciting about riding a bull?

OK, so I am not trying to insult anyone, I am just curious about what the point of bull riding is. I am in Red Bluff, California today and it happens to be the home of the largest 3 day rodeo in America. Woo Hoo. This is me, not impressed. I Do not understand why any grown man would put his testicles on the line and climb onto a 1,500 + Lbs obviously perturbed animal with a set of horns that would make a Spaniard quiver. Simply put, "Why?" Is it that it is cheaper than a vasectomy? Or are they really that bored?
