Is there no intelligent life on earth?

Seriously, all i'm hearing or reading about now is all these people posting questions on here about the rapture and end of world today. Asking questions like "were you afraid that you'd die today" or "are you happy that you're still alive" or "it's already may 21st here and i'm still alive, don't worry". Seriously, why do people even fall for this stuff? Why? If i tell you now that the world will end in 10 years will you listen to me or call me a liar? If i'm a liar then why did those people who posted those questions even worry about end of world? Why are people so stupid and gullible is what i'm asking. Is there no intelligence on this planet what-so-ever?
