What color should i paint my bedroom?

My room is fairly dark. which i do not like. i love lots of natural sunlight but i only have one small window. i want to make it look bigger. i'm looking for a calm and sensual feeling, but i also love bright bold colors. i love bohemian, tropical, beach, and modern styled bedrooms. Any help would be awesome. Even new ideas! thanks :)
