Your son is your son until he marries, but your daughter is your daughter until you die.?

Im looking for a different translation of the above quote into irish gaelic. I know in gaelic its "Is � do mhac do mhac go bp�sann s� ach is � d'in�on go bhfaighidh t� b�s" but i want "son" to be changed to "lover" and "daughter" to "friend" so it reads "Your lover is your lover until they marry, but your friend is yours until you die"
