You're doing quite well. Gyarados will end up being your et when it comes time to challenge the Elite Four. Remember not to hastily evolve your Pokemon. I'd drop Chansey if I was you and maybe get Lucario (later on in the game) or a Starapador (both of these Pokemon have attack statistics through the roof!) Nice choice with movesets by the way! *loves Gyarados* - Make sure he has a cool name, okay? :)
