Adopting a Anatolian Shepard. Anyone familiar w/ this breed? Should we get based on what we saw?? Help!?

Our friend was given an Anatolian Shepard. He is 6mths old, not neutered, and NEVER been worked with. From what I know these people just threw him out in the yard and never did anything with him. We went to see him and he is a little skiddish. Never been on a leash. He licked my hand, but again was very skiddish. We have a 11 mth old and im not sure about getting a dog that big. He is already probably 50 pounds. I was raised around German shepherds and I've been a vet tech for 6 years. We live in Texas and this breed is not down here. I tried searching for breeders and found one in Texas. So I really don't know anything about them. From what I saw he would need a ton of work, affection, and discipline. He needs to be handled by the right person. He was very calm for 6 mths old. He did have 2 rear dewclaws on each foot. Solid white w/ black nose, a little curl at the end of his tail. Huge feet. Not sure how his gait was.. Please help if you know anything about this breed. Thank you! Sorry so long.
